...He said that if you die while you get the log out error, you'll die for real. And then he threatened me and Fandaniel to make sure we kept our mouths shut about it. Namedropped our real names, too.
...he would have access to that. As Head Administrator. Our headsets are keyed into our identities after all. None of my co-workers could log in under my headset.
[If Sinclair sounds eerily calm...it's only before the storm]
Then Mithrun...he wouldn't have noticed if he had a log out error.
That's... super creepy. But the game is super real - maybe it's because of whatever they're doing to make it so we can experience things with our senses even though it's just data?
However they're accessing our brains, they know exactly what's going on with our lives...you know those voices I was hearing that day? It was word for word my family too. Private things no one could have known but me. [That murderer's whistle, especially]
I don't know. There are a lot of things I'm not allowed to know. But their mission has always been "face the future, reach for a new identity." They're confused though. Something like this shouldn't be possible, with the level of technology that exists now.
But I think any company would want to get their hands on it.

[And he's not the only one who let someone else try to access his headset]
The company I work for isn't really--it's a tech company as well.
[Fill in the gaps please]
... did he say something about that too?

...But yeah, you're right. When I found out what happened, I wondered if Mithrun got that error but didn't realize it.

[ He's thinking and exhales slowly]
Then...the log out error creates this dissonance between our minds and our bodies. As if our minds are being uploaded to the server...
[ But is that crazy talk??]

...and Hien said that wasn't on purpose. That no one could record or stream any of what had been shown that week in the mirrors.

...it was enough to drive some of us close to the edge.
[As Shoka had seen quite clearly]

Is your company interested in making the exact same tech?
